Stepladder Creamery

Located near San Luis Obispo, in Cambria, Stepladder Farm is a third-generation owned goat farm that not only produces stellar cheeses, but also raises heritage-breed hogs, Haas avocados, citrus and a variety of sub-tropical fruit. Dairy has always been part of this farm, as 100-years ago, it part of the Harmony Valley Creamery Association. This group of Italian and Swiss-born farmers banded together to try and rethink a successful future on drought-parched land. Many of the practices developed during this time continue today! Their small herd of Lamancha goats roam several acres of open pasture and woodland, which gives the milk a distinct herbaceous quality that cannot be matched.
