Founded in 2001, Zingerman’s Creamery is part of the famed Zingerman’s Community of Businesses in Central, Michigan. John Loomis, Dave Carson, Ari Weinzweig and Paul Saginaw set up the creamery on a farm in Manchester, MI, quickly establishing a relationship with neighboring farm, the Calder Family Dairy. Starting out by making cream cheese, through study in Italy, as well as a lot of practice, the Creamery has expanded to gelato and cheese! Zingerman’s Creamery, Now located in Ann Arbor, focuses on hand-ladling all of their cheeses and a long, slow pasteurization process, which they believe improves the flavors of their products. Low and slow does the trick!
